The Nebraska football team wrapped up its final padded practice in Lincoln Thursday with a two-hour workout on the rain-soaked field turf of Memorial Stadium.
“We got a lot covered today, working on both sides of the ball and (special) teams,” Head Coach Bo Pelini said. “We got a chance to handle a wet ball. We were going to be outside today no matter what. We kind of had most of our stuff in. The concentration was good today.”
Pelini said this week’s defensive formation against Kansas State will look similar to the package Nebraska used against Kansas last week, “because we’re not seeing a lot of four-wides,” Pelini said.
With Nebraska’s depth depleted at linebacker, sophomore Latravis Washington could work his way into the lineup.
“He had a pretty good week. We’ll see what happens,” Pelini said. “He’s ready to play. He’s gotten a lot of reps this week.”
On the injury front, Pelini said Lydon Murtha is doubtful for Saturday’s game.
The Huskers and Wildcats kick off at 2:35 p.m., and the game is available for purchase via FSN pay-per-view. Click the link above for information on how to order the game.
