Husker Student-Athletes to Donate to Cause
University of Nebraska student-athletes contributed 100 tickets to the “Tickets for Veterans” drive.  Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President Ashley Selig said the student-athletes are glad to help.  “The student-athletes at Nebraska are honored to be able to help make this Veteran’s Day special,” Selig said.  “Our Veterans have given us so much and this is just one way that we can thank them for their efforts in ensuring the freedom we enjoy as Americans.”

Other Events Connected With Veteran’s Salute:
The band will play patriotic songs in honor of Veteran’s Day, which is Friday, the day before the game. Each of the military units of the University ROTC will be represented in the colors presentation during the anthem.  A moment of silence will take place just before the anthem, in honor of the 25 native Nebraskans who have lost their lives since Sept. 11, defending our country in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  The Veterans will also be special guests at the Husker Nation Pavilion this Saturday.  Fans are reminded that the game will NOT be televised and will not be shown at the Pavilion this Saturday.
