The Nebraska football team wrapped up its final regular season practice on Wednesday afternoon with a two-hour workout inside Memorial Stadium. The Huskers are going through final preparations for their game on Friday afternoon against Colorado.

“We started out slow today, then we picked it up,” Head Coach Bo Pelini said. “I think our kids are ready to play. The thing we worry about the most is with Thanksgiving, it being a home game and family coming in, and you worry about distractions and things like that. But I think we addressed that, and I think our kids are excited to play this football game.”

Although the Huskers have already wrapped up a bowl bid, Pelini said that the team realizes a lot is still at stake in Friday’s game, and that they need to play their best to beat a tough Colorado team.

“I think they understand what’s at stake,” Pelini said. “We need to start fast and play our best football. We haven’t put four quarters together yet up to our potential, and that’s what’s sitting out there for us.”

Pelini said the Huskers are “about as healthy as we can be at this point in the season,” and doesn’t see anyone missing significant time in Friday’s game. Junior linebacker Phillip Dillard practiced and is expected to play on Friday, although Pelini acknowledged that he’s not quite at 100 percent yet.

Kickoff between Nebraska and Colorado is at 2:30 p.m. on Friday and will be televised nationally on ABC. Fans are encouraged to get to their seats approximately a half-hour before kickoff to honor the Huskers’ senior class, which will be introduced about 25 minutes before kickoff.
