Post Practice Report (April 10th 2009)

Lincoln The Nebraska football team wrapped up its third week of spring practices with a 2 ½ hour session on the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice fields on Saturday morning. More than 400 members of the Touchdown Club watched the Huskers conclude practice with a live redzone scrimmage under sunny blue skies.

“It was a good physical practice,” Head Coach Bo Pelini said. “I thought we practice really well yesterday. We came back today and make some mistakes but the effort was good. The enthusiasm was there, and it was physical.”

Linebacker Blake Lawrence, running back Roy Helu and offensive lineman Jacob Hickman were among several Huskers who sat out of practice with minor injuries, but Pelini said his staff was in “no rush” to hurry them back. The Huskers’ final week of spring practices begins with a session on Monday afternoon.

Reserved tickets for the April 18 Red-White Spring Game remain available through Huskers.com or by calling the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-8-BIG-RED. Tickets are $10 each. Kickoff for the Red-White Spring game is at 1 p.m.
