Nebraska Coach Bill Callahan
Postgame Quotes

Opening Statement
"I want to congratulate USC on an outstanding game. We have great respect for them. You saw an effort by Nebraska that was outstanding in so many respects. I thought our special teams were excellent. At times, we ran the ball physically. Our defense played well at times, but we didn’t come up with the big plays when we needed to.

"Our guys competed hard against one of the best teams in the country, but when you compete against teams like this, the margin for error is minute. We had critical penalties and mistakes.

"Dwayne Jarrett is an outstanding wide receiver. That’s why he’s a Heisman Trophy candidate. He’s a monster. He physically dominates. He can make plays on the perimeter and the edge and really becomes a factor in the red zone. We were trying to mix coverages and do whatever we could do.

(On why they didn’t throw the ball more)
"We wanted to establish the run. We had some opportunities to pass, but overall, we’ll improve there. We felt we could run. You need to be able to run to win championships. Let me be clear. We want to run. On the road, that’s a challenge. But we want to establish the run. It didn’t happen and we’re disappointed and we’ll take a look at it."
