Coach Callahan will take his team on the road for the first time when the Huskers face Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team continued its preparations for Saturday’s road game at Pittsburgh with a two-hour workout in half pads in Memorial Stadium on Thursday.

NU Head Coach Bill Callahan says his team is ready for its first road game of the season.

“We’re anxious,” Callahan said. “It’s an opportunity for us to redeem ourselves after last week’s performance. I think our guys are focused. They were locked in today and it was a good practice.”

The Huskers will conduct a walk-through on Friday afternoon before departing for Pittsburgh.

“We’ll practice tomorrow morning, depart tomorrow afternoon, and arrive late afternoon into Pittsburgh,” Callahan said. “We’re going to get everything done that we need to get done, in terms of our preparation, here in Lincoln.”

Callahan also addressed the status of injured Blackshirts Adam Carriker and Lornell McPherson, who will not be a part of the travel roster.

“They’ll have rehabilition responsibilities,” Callahan said. “We’d like to take them, but we’ll need every man we can. We’re going to take a full compliment of 80 players to Pittsburgh, and we’ll need every one of them.”

Nebraska will wrap up its game week preparations on Friday for Saturday’s 11 a.m. kickoff with the Panthers.

Game Available on ABC and ESPN Game Plan

Saturday’s game will be carried to most of the nation by ABC and will also be available on ESPN Game Plan for viewers on the West Coast.
