Nebraska and Kansas will square off at Memorial Stadium on Oct. 2, with kickoff set for 6:10 p.m.

Nebraska has announced that its Oct. 2 home contest against Kansas has been set for a 6:10 p.m. (CDT) kickoff. The contest between the Huskers and Jayhawks will be televised on a pay-per-view basis.

Additional information about the pay-per-view telecast including price, how to purchase the telecast, and a list of participating cable systems and satellite providers, will be announced in the coming days. Big 12 Special Order Sports, FSN’s pay-per-view division, will produce and distribute the telecast which will begin at 6 p.m. (CDT).

“The pay-per-view telecast allows our great fans an opportunity to watch our Big 12 Conference opener and see a game that otherwise would not be available to them,” Nebraska Athletic Director Steve Pederson said.  “The atmosphere for night games at Memorial Stadium is always special and I know the Kansas game will be no different.”

The game is being televised on pay-per-view because it was not selected for over-the-air broadcast or cable television coverage.  Under Big 12 Conference TV rules, games not picked up for regular television distribution can only be televised live on pay-per-view.

The Kansas-Nebraska telecast will be the fourth Nebraska game distributed on pay-per-view. Nebraska appeared on pay-per-view in its 2004 season opener against Western Illinois, and also on Oct. 12, 2002 against Missouri and Oct. 25, 2003 against Iowa State.

The 2-1 Huskers are off this week before the start of conference action, while Kansas plays Texas Tech on Saturday in the Big 12 opener in Lawrence.

Further details will be posted on Huskers.com and FOXSports.com on MSN (search: Midwest) as they become available.
