The Huskers moved inside Cook Pavilion Wednesday to continue preparations for this week's road matchup at Texas Tech.

Lincoln, Neb.The Nebraska football team moved inside Cook Pavilion for a two-hour workout in half-pads because of a threat of rain Wednesday. Despite moving indoors, Coach Bill Callahan was pleased with the practice session and the Huskers' ability to focus on the task at hand.

"It was a good practice today, the guys worked hard," Callahan said. "It was a big day concerning third downs. We were really trying to focus in on all third-down aspects of the game – the blitz pickup, short yardage and long yardage. We tried to get it all in today and I thought we did a good job."

Callahan said the Huskers tried to rectify problem situations in the third-down game from last weekend's 14-8 conference-opening victory over Kansas. Callahan noted the need to be prepared for any combination of defensive schemes, especially in third-down situations.

"You don't know what you are going to get on third down any more," Callahan said. "There is such a mix of coverages and blitzes and fronts, you have to be prepared for all of them. You try to go on the practice field and duplicate what teams are showing on films and prepare your guys, but it changes. That's one thing we try to get across to our players is to have the ability to adjust on the move when things change."

The Huskers continue preparations for Saturday's contest against the Red Raiders on Thursday with their final full workout of the week.  Nebraska and Texas Tech kick off at 6:10 p.m. Saturday in front of a national television audience on TBS.
