Omaha - No. 3 national seed Nebraska will try to continue its pursuit of its first national title in baseball when the Cornhuskers clash with the Arizona State Sun Devils in a College World Series elimination game at Rosenblatt Stadium on Tuesday. First pitch for the Huskers' game one rematch with ASU is set for 1:07 p.m. and will be televised live nationally be ESPN.
In addition to ESPN's national television coverage, the game can be heard live on the Pinnacle Sports Network, including a live Internet broadcast on Huskers.com, with Jim Rose and Randy Lee calling all of the action.
The Big 12 champion Huskers opened the CWS with a 5-3 victory over the Sun Devils on Friday, as Joba Chamberlain pitched Nebraska to its first College World Series win in school history. After advancing to face Florida in Sunday night's bracket semifinal, the Huskers fell into the loser's bracket rematch with the Sun Devils by dropping a 7-4 decision to the Gators.
Zach Kroenke, perhaps Nebraska's hottest pitcher during the postseason, will take the hill for the 57-14 Huskers against ASU on Tuesday. Kroenke enters Tuesday's game with a 7-2 overall record and will try to pitch NU to its school-record 58th win this season.
Arizona State staved off elimination on Sunday with a 4-2 victory over Tennessee. The Sun Devils scored three runs in the eighth inning to come from behind to eliminate the Volunteers from the eight-team, double-elimination tournament.
If Nebraska can get past the Sun Devils again on Tuesday, the Huskers will take their second shot at Florida in a rematch of Sunday night's loss to the Gators. Wednesday's first pitch is set for 1:07 p.m. and will be televised live nationally by ESPN.
