Nebraska senior golfer Michael Colgate has been invited to play in the prestigious 2016 South Beach International Amateur, set for Dec. 19-22, in Miami, Fla.
The South Beach International Amateur is one of the top amateur tournaments in the world, and will be played at both Miami Beach Golf Club and Normandy Shores Golf Club. Each player invited to compete in the event must be a highly ranked player in college and/or the world.
Former champions of the South Beach International Amateur have been All-Americans and are now playing on professional tours.
Colgate, a Sarasota, Fla., native, compiled a 71.8 stroke average during the fall campaign. He carded rounds of par or better on six of 15 occasions, and earned three top-10 finishes individually.
