Laredo, Texas - The Nebraska men's golf team will be heading to Laredo, Texas to play in the 2017 Border Olympics, Friday, March 10 – Saturday, March 11.
University of Houston and Laredo Country Club, a par 72, 7,125 yard course will play host to the 54 - hole tournament. The men will play 36 holes on Friday, and finish up the tournament with a round of 18 holes on Saturday.
The Huskers are entering the Border Olympics with one top-ten finish under their belt from the Spring 2017 season.
Representing the No. 1 spot for the Huskers will be Michael Colgate. The senior tied for 31st individually at Nebraska's previous tournament, the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.
Sophomore Jace Guthmiller will play in the No. 2 spot for Nebraska. Guthmiller tied for 17th individually at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate with a total score of 216.
Justin Jennings will represent the No. 3 spot in the lineup. The senior tied for 58th in the Husker's previous tournament after finishing with an overall score of 225.
Playing in the No. 4 spot for the Huskers will be Jackson Wendling. The sophomore posted a final score of 232 at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate and tied for 98th.
Freshman Tanner Owen will round out the No. 5 spot in the lineup for Nebraska.
The tournament will have a 19-Team field including: Nebraska, Houston, Bowling Green, Campbell, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Little Rock, Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, New Mexico State, Oral Roberts, Rice, Sacramento State, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, ULM, UTEP, UTSA.
