Huskers Head to Hawkeye Invitational
Iowa City, Iowa - The Nebraska men's golf team will travel to Iowa City, Iowa this weekend to compete in the Annual Hawkeye Invitational.
Finkbine Golf Course, a par-72, 7,239-yard layout, will play host to the 54-hole event. Saturday's play will consist of 36 holes, beginnning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (CT). Sunday's final 18 holes is set for 9 a.m. Live scoring will be available every 3 holes on GolfStat.com
The 14 team competition field will cosist of Nebraska, Arkansas St., Denver, DePaul, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Marquette, Minnesota, South Dakota State, Texas Tech, Utah, and UMKC.
Michael Colgate will represent the No. 1 spot in the NU lineup this weekend. Colgate fired a two-round score of 135 to capture the title at the Huskers' last tournament, the Border Olympics. The senior was awarded the honor of Big Ten Men's Co-Golfer of the Week.
Jace Guthmiller will play in the No. 2 spot for the Huskers. The sophomore placed 37th individually at the Border Olympics, with a score of 145.
Senior Justin Jennings will represent the No. 3 spot. Jennings tied for 69th individually in the Huskers' last tournament with a score of 150.
Tanner Owen will compete in the No. 4 spot for the Huskers. The freshman carded a 152 at the Border Olympics, placing him in a tie for 81st.
Freshman Cameron Jones will round out the lineup, playing in the 5th spot for NU.
