Iowa City, Iowa - The Nebraska men's golf team opened the Hawkeye Invitational with a 312 team score in Saturday's first round and sits in 14th place in the team race at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa. Action at the par-72, 7,239-yard layout course continues with the second round on Sunday.
Texas Tech leads the team standings after day one at 285, with Kansas (286), Marquette (289), Arkansas State (289) and Iowa (289) rounding out the top five.
Senior Justin Jennings led NU today with a score of 74. Jennings is tied for 29th.
Both Michael Colgate and Jace Guthmiller fired rounds of 77 to place them in a tie for 59th.
Freshman Tanner Owen carded an 84 to place him in a tie for 79th.
Cameron Jones is tied for 81st after shooting an 87.
