She did not compete for NU as a sophomore and she did not continue her career at Nebraska following the 1998-99 season.

Redshirt Freshman (1997-98)
A Lincoln native, Kiene competed in 15 rounds for the Huskers as a redshirt freshman in 1997-98. She earned the only lineup spot of her career at the Big 12 Fall Preview, where she tied for 48th at 251 (80-85-86). For the season she posted an 80.00 stroke average, including a career-best 73. She managed a pair of top-20 tournament finishes, including a career-best eighth-place showing at the Colorado Invitational, where she carded her 73 on her way to a career-best tournament score of 226.

Off the course, Kiene earned academic All-Big 12 honors.
