1975-76
Deb Benish (Reed) was on Nebraska's roster in its inaugural season in 1975-76, helping the Huskers to the first-ever Big Eight women's golf crown and their first-ever trip to the AIAW National Tournament
. The Norfolk, Neb., native earned her lone letter in 1976.

Benish was a member of Nebraska's first-ever varsity women's golf team under Coach Larry Romjue in 1975-76. Benish helped Nebraska capture the first-ever Big Eight championship in women's golf, which was held in Columbia, Mo. The Huskers also finished fourth at the AIAW Region VI Tournament and qualified for the AIAW National Tournament in East Lansing, Mich. At nationals, Benish helped the Huskers to a 22nd-place finish with a two-round total of 683.
