Eugene, Ore.-- The Nebraska men's tennis team ended its road series on Saturday with a loss to the Fresno State Bulldogs, 7-0.
The Huskers put in great effort in the doubles matches against Fresno State. Toby Boyer and Dylan Bednarczyk played in the No. 1 spot against Euan McIntosh and Patrik Pech and fell 6-4. Tomislav Antoljak and David Samardzija lost the battle to Xander Veys and Mantas Bugailiskis, 6-3. In the No. 3 spot, Micah Klousia and Chris Dean faught hard against the Bulldogs, but then unfortunately fell, 7-6 (4).
In singles, Boyer played strong in the No. 1 position against Xander Veys but lost 6-3, 7-6 (2). Tomislav Antoljak played against Zdenek Derkas and fell 6-0, 7-5. Micah Klousia and Youssef Hassan played a tough match that favored the Bulldogs, 6-2, 6-2. David Samardzija played hard against Mantas Bugailiskis but lost 6-1, 7-6 (4). The last two matches where Bednarczyk and Dean played were retired with the points going toward the Bulldogs.
The Huskers hit the road again next week to play against Utah and New Mexico in Salt Lake City, Utah. on Feb. 17 and Feb. 19, respectively.
