Minneapolis, Minn. – The Nebraska women’s tennis team pocketed eight more wins on the second day of the USTA/ITA Central Regional Championships at the Baseline Tennis Center.

Nebraska started the morning strong in Minneapolis with four of the five Husker duos securing tight wins in doubles action.

Leading the victories were Jeannie Lozowski and Katerina Matysova who defeated the South Dakota pair of Ellie Burns and Nanette Nylund, 8-6.  Freshman pair Hayley Haakenstad and Claire Reifies followed suit with an 8-7 (2) tiebreaker win over Elvira Lopez and Astrid Santos of Northern Iowa.

Bringing home the third win for the Big Red was Lisa Andersson and Mary Hanna, who snagged an 8-4 win over Missouri State’s Ekaterina Donetskova and Fati Khamissi. Also claiming a victory was the sophomore pair of Elizabeth Gould and Sydney Harlow. Gould and Harlow made quick work of Molly Crum and Elif Gabb of South Dakota State with an 8-4 finish.

All winning Nebraska duos move on to the second round of open draw doubles Saturday.
