Lincoln - The Nebraska women's tennis team will compete in its second Big Ten match of the season, when the 14-0 Huskers welcome Purdue to the Dillon Tennis Center on Saturday, March 11, at 11 a.m. Admission to the match is free, with the first 100 fans receiving free Valentino's pizza and a drink.
The Huskers (14-0 overall, 1-0 Big Ten) shoot to extend their 14-match winning streak while notching their second Big Ten Conference dual victory. Purdue carries a 5-7 overall record to Lincoln for the Boilermakers first-ever visit to the Dillon Tennis Center. Purdue is 0-1 in Big Ten play this spring. The Boilermakers have lost seven straight matches to Dartmouth, Virginia Tech, DePaul, Arkansas, Maryland, Notre Dame and Tulsa, after opening the season with five consecutive wins.
Purdue leads the all-time series between the two schools, 4-2. The Boilermakers edged the Huskers 5-2 in West Lafayette, Ind., last season.
After the conclusion of home tennis action this weekend, the Huskers hit the road again to face-off against Cal State Fullerton, Minnesota and Wisconsin over spring break before returning home to challenge Northwestern at the Dillon Tennis Center on March 31.
