Nebraska junior outfielder Meghan Mullin was presented with the 2007-08 Richard Raimondi Memorial Scholarship during the 2008 season, marking the second straight season Mullin has been selected as the recipient of the scholarship.

Mullin is a history major who has earned two consecutive first-team academic All-Big 12 honors while leading Nebraska in batting average, stolen bases and sacrifices in both 2007 and 2008. A native of Mesa, Ariz., Mullin has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in each of her first five semesters at Nebraska.

The Richard Raimondi Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the Husker softball team. The scholarship was created in December of 2001 to honor the father of former NU softball player Melanie Raimondi. The Raimondi Scholarship was the first fully endowed scholarship for a female athlete at Nebraska.

Mullin is the fifth recipient of the scholarship, joining Amber Burgess (2002-03), KoKo Tacha (2003-04), Sheena Lawrick (2004-05) and Lizzy Aumua (2005-06). Mullin is the first two-time recipient in the scholarship's history.
