Nolan Border wrapped up his Husker cross country career by competing in two meets for the Big Red as a senior in 2015...opened the year by finishing 10th (20:03.58) as the eighth Husker to cross the finish line at the Augustana Twilight in Sioux Falls, S.D., Sept. 4, helping the Huskers to a team title...was NU's No. 5 finisher at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational at Pioneers Park in Lincoln on Sept. 19...took ninth overall at the Woody Greeno in a time of 25:54.0...was a four-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and became an eight-time selection to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll...earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2016.
Border competed in all six meets as a junior and finished as one of Nebraska’s top-six runners throughout the season...opened as Nebraska’s No. 6 finisher, posting a time of 19:25.29 and placing 21st overall to help the Huskers capture the team title at the Augustana Twilight Invitational...followed up his opening-week performance with a 15th-place finish at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational...ran a time of 26:56.00 to help the Huskers earn a second-place finish...at the Roy Griak Invite, was Nebraska’s No. 2 finisher with a time of 26:48... finished the regular season with a 49th-place finish at the Bradley Classic in a time a 25:39.3...ran a time of 25:13.3 to finish 67th at the Big Ten Championships...was Nebraska’s No. 4 finisher at the NCAA Midwest Regional, crossing the finish line in 32:10.7...earned academic All-Big Ten accolades and was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for the third consecutive year...became a six-time member of the Nebraska-Scholar Athlete Honor Roll with two more selections.
Border provided depth for the Huskers as a sophomore...placed 24th (26:40.90) at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational at Pioneers Park...closed his competitive season by placing 204th (26:56.7) at the Roy Griak Invitational...was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for the second straight season while adding a pair of spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
A late addition to the cross country team, Border used most of his freshman season to transition to the longer course requirements in collegiate cross country...competed twice for the Huskers...ran unattached at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational before competing in Nebraska’s lineup at the Big Ten Championships...placed 77th at the conference meet, posting a time of 26.37...was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and two-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection.
Before Nebraska (Pius X)
Border joined the Huskers from Pius X High School in Lincoln, Neb...earned a spot on the all-city track and field team as a member of the Pius X 3,200-meter relay team...helped the Thunderbolts to a time of 8:02.85....set an outdoor personal best of 1:55.80 in the 800 meters.
Nolan Border was born April 7, 1993...son of Chris and Karen Border...majoring in nutrition science.
