Bio

2007 (Senior)
Channing Anseth made her senior debut at the Woody Greeno, finishing seventh with a time of 22:01.1, helping the women's team secure a victory at the lone home meet of the season. After sitting out the next three meets, she returned for the NCAA Midwest Regional. Anseth finished 72nd with a time of 21:59, her fastest time at the regional meet over her three year career at Nebraska.

2006 (Junior)

After battling through injuries as a sophomore, Anseth delivered in her first healthy season with Nebraska by leading the Huskers in three of the five meets she competed. For her efforts, she was awarded with the 2006 Most Valuable Runner award, given by Coach Jay Dirksen.

Anseth ended the year by finishing 12th at the Big 12 Championships, the highest finish by a Husker at the conference meet since 2001. In addition, it gained her All-Big 12 status and led Nebraska to a third-place team finish. In the previous two meets, Anseth was the Huskers’ top finisher as well, while clocking a career-best 6K time of 21:06.8 to place 25th overall at the Chile Pepper Festival. She was held out of the Creighton/UNO Classic to start the season for training reasons, but came out strong in Nebraska’s Woody Greeno Invite to finish as the overall runner-up.

Before redshirting the outdoor season, Anseth ran indoors and placed second in the 3,000 meters (10:08.68) at the Prairie Wolf Invite. She added an 11th-place finish (17:22.42) in the 5,000 meters at the Big 12 Championships.

2005 (Sophomore)

Anseth did not compete in the first four meets of the season, but was the Huskers’ third finisher at both the Chile Pepper Festival and Big 12 Championships. Her career-best 6K time of 21:58 at the Chile Pepper Festival was her first meet of the season. She finished 28th overall at the Big 12 Championships.

During the indoor track season, Anseth was Nebraska’s top 5,000-meter performer. She ran the Huskers’ best time of the year at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with an NCAA provisional-qualifying mark of 16:38.54 to place fifth. Anseth won the 5,000 meters in 17:21 at the Holiday Inn Invitational to open the year, defeating former Husker standout Ann Gaffigan in the process. Anseth added runner-up honors in the 5,000 at the Nebraska Invitational.

She redshirted the outdoor season.

2004 (Freshman) St. Cloud State

Anseth attended St. Cloud State with the intention of competing in swimming, cross country and track, but competed only in cross country and swimming. As a freshman, she led the Husky women’s cross country team in four of five meets. She was the top freshman finisher at the North Central Conference Championships with a 12th-place performance, and she finished 52nd at the NCAA Division II North Central Regional meet. Anseth recorded a top 6K time of 23:26.47 at the NCC Championships.

High School

Anseth experienced a successful high school career competing for Lincoln Southeast in the Nebraska Class A state meet. She finished third as a freshman in 2000, fourth as a sophomore and 12th as a junior. She also finished 29th as a senior, despite suffering from a stress fracture. The Knights won the Class A team title during her freshman and sophomore seasons.

Also a standout on the track, Anseth competed at the Nebraska Class A state meet as a freshman, junior and senior. She twice placed in the 3,200-meter run, including a fifth-place finish as a senior in 2004 and a sixth-place showing as a freshman. Anseth and her teammates won the 2001 Class A team title.
