2013 (Freshman)
Lincoln native and Southwest High School graduate Lucas Keifer made an immediate impact for the Husker men’s cross country team in 2013, frequently finishing as a top-seven runner.

Keifer made his Nebraska debut at the Augustana Twilight in Sioux Falls, S.D., by placing 10th overall with a time of 19:53.67. He helped the Husker men secure a team championship in their opening meet of the season. Keifer added a 16th-place finish with a time of 26:25.15 at the Tim Young Invitational in Vermillion, S.D.

The former Nebraska Super-State honoree did not compete in the postseason for the Huskers.

Before Nebraska (Lincoln Southwest)
Keifer ran a personal-best time of 16:10 on the cross country course at Pioneers Park, the site of Nebraska’s annual Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational. Keifer earned Nebraska Super-State honors in 2011 and 2012 as a cross country competitor for Lincoln Southwest High School. He earned four letters in both cross country and track for the Silver Hawks.

The son of Johnny and Tracey Keifer, Lucas was born Feb. 11, 1995. He has not declared a major, but he did earn a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in spring of 2014.
