Outlook (2014-15): Chris Hobgarski joined the Nebraska tennis program in the fall of 2014. Hobgarksi is a freshman from Sankt Wendell, Germany.

"Chris can hit some amazing shots," Head Coach Kerry McDermott said. "He has a lot of experience playing back home and will help us especially as a freshman. He takes risks but as coaches we need to have him be a little bit smarter on the court. Sometimes he just needs to work the points a little longer and make his opponents really earn their points but I think that will come along with just playing college tennis and te competitiveness."

Before Nebraska: Hobgarski was a top European recruit and chose to come to Nebraska because of the great facilities to help that will help in reaching a higher level of athletic and academic abilities.

"There are great facilities to reach both academically and athletically a higher level and it will be a great experience to study at UNL and play for Nebraska", said Chris.

Personal: Chris is the son of Peter Hobgarski and Sabine Schaefer-Hobgarski and was born January 2, 1995, in Neunkirchen, Germany. He has one older brother, Philipp, and a younger sister Katharina. Chris is majoring in business management at Nebraska.
