Three Huskers Named to NSCAA Scholar All-Region Teams
The trio of seniors played a crucial role on this season's NCAA Tournament team.

Sydney Miramontez garnered first-team NSCAA Scholar All-North/Central Region honors, while Caroline Flynn and Courtney Claassen each made the third team.

Miramontez, a senior from Lenexa, Kan., holds a 3.41 grade-point average in advertising and public relations. She led the Huskers in assists with seven during the 2016 campaign, and added one goal in helping Nebraska to the NCAA Tournament. Miramontez started all 22 games and led the team in minutes played (2,101).

Flynn, a senior from Lincoln, Neb., has a 3.99 GPA in communication studies. Flynn, who had one goal and one assist in 2016, earned CoSIDA first-team Academic All-America status following the season. She started 20 games and compiled nearly 1,900 minutes.

Claassen, a senior from Parkville, Mo., has a 3.74 GPA in advertising and public relations. She started all 22 games, amassing over 2,000 minutes, and had one assist. Claassen, like Miramontez and Flynn, captured Academic All-Big Ten honors, announced by the conference earlier this month.
