Huskers Edged by FC Kansas City, 2-1

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska soccer team fell to NWSL team FC Kansas City, 2-1, in the Huskers' final home spring game at Barbara Hibner Stadium on Saturday afternoon. 

Newcomer Faith Carter, a junior transfer from TCU, scored in the 28th minute to give Nebraska a 1-0 advantage. FC Kansas City's Shea Groom responded with a goal of her own in the 37th minute to tie the score, 1-1. It stood as a tie at halftime, and continued to stay deadlocked until the 86th minute when Groom scored her second goal of the game. Nebraska had a handball inside the box, which gave the Blues a penalty kick.

Nebraska goalkeeper Aubrei Corder played all 90 minutes of the game, and managed two saves, while catching several additional crossing attempts and corner kicks. 

The Huskers continue their spring season on Sunday, April 9 against Oklahoma at St. Teresa's in Kansas City, Mo. The game is scheduled for 11 a.m. (CT). NU's fifth and final spring game is slated for Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m. (CT) at Colorado in Boulder, Colo.
