2007 Outlook
Redshirt freshman tight end Ben Tasa is part of a large group of young tight ends hopeful of making a push for playing time in 2007. Tasa will enter fall camp listed as a reserve behind seniors J.B. Phillips and Josh Mueller and junior Hunter Teafatiller, who all played significant roles last season. Tasa redshirted in his first season in the program and worked with the scout team. The 6-4, 230-pound Tasa walked on after a standout prep career at Humphrey St. Francis High School.

2006 (Redshirt)
Tasa sat out the season as a redshirt.

Before Nebraska (Humphrey St. Francis HS)
Tasa was a three-year letterwinner in both football and basketball at Humphrey St. Francis High School. As a senior, Tasa was an all-state tight end, after earning honorable-mention honors as a junior. Tasa played in the Sertoma All-Star football game and was the offensive MVP. On the hardwood, Tasa helped his team win the 2006 Class D-1 state title. He was the captain of the Columbus Telegram and Norfolk Daily News all-area basketball teams and was an all-state pick as well. Tasas earned second-team all-state honors as a junior in basketball and was an honorable-mention pick as a sophomore.

Personal
The son of Barry and Radell Tasa, Ben was born on June 8, 1987. He has not declared a major and has assisted with NU’s hospital visits.
