Senior David Kolowski served as Nebraska's No. 3 center this fall. However, he played a key role as Nebraska's snapper for place-kicking duties. Husker kickers made 16-of-20 field goals this season and the unit had just one failed PAT attempt. Kolowski also excels in the classroom and was a first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection this fall.

2002: Kolowski saw limited action at center, but was NU?s No. 1 snapper for field goals and extra points. Senior David Kolowski will back up returning senior starter John Garrison and junior Josh Sewell at center and will also serve as Garrison?s backup snapper on special teams.

2001: Kolowski backed up Garrison in 2001 and saw action in three games. Kolowski did not record a pancake. He did not play in the 2002 Rose Bowl.

2000: Kolowski saw time in two games in 2000 plus the Alamo Bowl as a backup snapper and center.

1999: As a reserve center, Kolowksi did not see action.

1998: A walk-on, Kolowski redshirted his first year at Nebraska.

At Millard West HS: Kolowski was the starting center and long snapper for Coach Dan McLaughlin's Millard West team. Kolowski played in the Shrine Bowl in 1998 and was a four-year academic letterman and honor roll student.

Personal: The son of Rick and Bonnie Kolowksi, David was born on July 16, 1979. He majors in secondary education and social sciences and is on track to graduate in May 2004. Kolowski was named to the 2002 Brook Berringer Citizenship Team after volunteering with the Teammates, Team Spirit and School is Cool programs. He is also a member of the 2002 Nebraska Football Unity Council.
