2007 (Senior)
After serving as a reserve for the first four years of his Nebraska career, tight end Sean Hill emerged as one of the Huskers’ top receiving threats in 2007. Hill was one of Nebraska’s most improved players during spring ball and that carried over to the fall.

Hill played in all 12 games in 2007, including six starts at tight end. He completed the season with 18 catches for 288 yards to tie for fifth on the team in receptions. The 6-3, 250-pound Hill made his first career catch at Wake Forest, hauling in a 25-yard touchdown catch just before halftime. He added two catches against USC, then broke out against Ball State with three receptions for 129 yards, including an NU season-long 73-yard touchdown catch. His yardage total was the third-best ever by a Nebraska tight end and the first 100-yard day by a tight end since 2003.

The Illinois native added his third touchdown catch of the season a week later against Iowa State and made a career-high four catches at Missouri. He also snared three catches against Texas A&M and had two receptions each against Texas and Kansas.

Hill played in three games for Nebraska as a reserve in 2006, but did not have a catch. He did not see game action in 2004 or 2005, and redshirted in 2003. Hill was one of 20 Husker players to earn their bachelor’s degree in December of 2007.

Career
Hill saw action in Nebraska’s non-conference victories over Louisiana Tech, Nicholls State and Troy, but did not have a reception. Hill did not participate in a game in 2004 or 2005. He sat out as a redshirt in 2003.

Before Nebraska (Naperville North HS)
Hill played center and offensive guard at Naperville North High School for Coach Larry McKeon. A high school teammate of NU linebacker Corey McKeon, Hill received all-conference and all-area honors, and was named honorable-mention Naperville player of the year in addition to lettering twice in both football and basketball. He was recognized for his academic success by earning a spot on the all-conference academic team, and was an honor roll student.

Personal
Sean is the son of Mary and Tom Hill and was born on Nov. 12, 1984. He has two older brothers, Andy and Kevin and an older sister, Angie. Andy was a former member of the Husker golf team, and Sean’s uncle, Dan, is a former Nebraska football player. Angie played basketball for Lake Forest College in Illinois. Sean majored in communication studies and graduated in December of 2007. Hill has volunteered his time with the Chalk Talk Youth Football Program and local hospital visits.
