2007 (Senior)
Matt Senske began his Nebraska career as a dual-sport athlete, then concentrated strictly on football over the latter half of his career. He spent his final three seasons as a reserve fullback with the Huskers and saw game action in each of his final two years. He earned a letter following his senior season in 2007.

A back injury held Senske back in his senior season, but he appeared in NU’s Senior Day win over Kansas State. In 2006, Senske played in four games, as a backup fullback. He made wo catches for 13 yards out of the backfield against Troy and scored his first career touchdown in the third quarter on a one-yard pass from backup quarterback Joe Ganz.

Senske moved to fullback in 2005, but did not see game action. He previously served as a reserve linebacker after joining the team through a walk-on tryout in the fall of 2004. Senske joined the team after throwing the javelin and discus for the Husker track team.

Senske was a first-team Academic All-Big 12 pick in 2007 and was a three-time Big 12 honor roll pick. He was one of 20 NU seniors to graduate in December of 2007. He was also the vice president of the 2007-08 Nebraska Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was a two-time member of the Brook Berringer Citizenship Team.

2006 (Junior)
Senske appeared in four games, including Nebraska’s three non-conference home games and the Huskers’ win at Texas A&M. Senske made two catches for 13 yards out of the backfield against Troy and scored his first career touchdown in the third quarter on a one-yard pass from backup quarterback Joe Ganz.

2005 (Sophomore)
Senske was a reserve fullback, but did not play in a game.

2004 (Redshirt Freshman)
Senske joined the football team during the fall and was a backup linebacker. He continued his track career, throwing the javelin and discus for the Huskers.

Before Nebraska (Bellevue East HS)
Senske was a dual-sport standout at Bellevue East High School. In football, Senske was a force for Bellevue East on both sides of the ball. He played tight end and defensive end, and led his team in nearly every category in his senior year. Senske earned academic all-state honors as a junior and senior, was All-Metro in 2001 and all-district in 2001 and 2002. Senske earned honorable-mention all-state honors in 2000, 2001 and 2002. He was also a strong performer for Coach Daryl Berg's Chieftain track team, qualifying for the state meet in the discus in both 2002 and 2003, and played basketball as well.

Personal
The son of Robert and Denise Senske, Matt was born on April 19, 1985. A business administration major, Senske earned his bachelor's degree in December of 2007. He was a first-team academic All-Big 12 selection in 2007 and was a three-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. He was also the vice president of the 2007-08 Nebraska Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a two-time member of the Brook Berringer Citizenship Team. Senske has volunteered his time with Holmes Lake Manor, American Education Week, School is Cool Week and Pacific Pals Youth Camp, while also participating in local hospital visits.
