2003 (Senior)
Dan Vili Waldrop (pronounced VEE-lee) completed a productive Husker career in 2003, after starting 29 of NU's 40 games at right tackle in 2001, 2002 and 2003. As a senior, Vili Waldrop helped the Huskers rank seventh nationally in rushing offense with 235.6 yards per game. He played in 50 games in his NU career.

Vili Waldrop joined fullback Judd Davies and punter Kyle Larson as the only three-year senior starters, and was an honorable-mention All-Big 12 pick in both 2002 and 2003.

2002 (Junior)
Vili Waldrop started 13 games at right tackle (all but Independence Bowl) and tied for fifth on the team with 91 pancakes. He had a career-high 24 pancakes at Texas A&M, when Nebraska rushed for 381 yards and produced a school-record 110 knockdowns. Vili Waldrop's 24 pancakes are the fourth-highest single-game total in school history. He had three other games with seven or more pancakes, led by an eight-pancake effort against Colorado. Vili Waldrop's six pancakes against McNeese State helped the Husker rushing attack put up a season-high 444 yards.

Nebraska finished the season fourth in rushing offense, averaging 268.7 yards per game. The Huskers topped 300 rushing yards five times in 2002, all in a six-game midseason stretch (McNeese State to Kansas) when the NU offense averaged 346.8 yards per game on the ground.

2001 (Sophomore)
Vili Waldrop made a smooth transition from left guard to right tackle and started all 12 games and the Rose Bowl in 2001. He finished fifth on the team in pancakes with 95 and assisted the Huskers to the NCAA rushing title at 314.7 yards per game. Vili Waldrop had three double-figure pancake games with a season-high 17 knock-downs against Rice, when Nebraska had 497 total yards.

Vili Waldrop also had double-figure pancake games against Notre Dame (11) and Kansas State (15), when he was one of four Huskers with at least 15 knock-downs. In addition, he contributed eight pancakes at Baylor, helping Nebraska to 641 rushing yards, the second-highest ground total in school history. Vili Waldrop started vs. Miami in the Rose Bowl.

2000 (Redshirt Freshman)
Vili Waldrop played in 10 games as a backup to Toniu Fonoti at left guard and as a member of NU's PAT and field goal units. He had seven pancakes (five at Texas Tech) and played in the 2000 Alamo Bowl. Nebraska averaged an NCAA-leading 349.3 rushing yards per game.

A scholarship recruit, Vili Waldrop redshirted in 1999.

Before Nebraska (Banning HS)
Vili Waldrop committed on signing day in 1999, and put the finishing touches on an excellent class that featured eight linemen. An all-state offensive lineman by the Los Angeles Times, Vili Waldrop was a two-year starter for Banning High School (same school as former Husker All-America quarterback Vince Ferragamo, 1975-76), playing for Coach Chris Gutierrez. Vili Waldrop earned all-conference and all-city honors as a junior and senior. He picked NU over Colorado, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, Arizona and Oregon. He attended Eisenhower High in Rialto, Calif., as a freshman and sophomore.

Personal
Born on Nov. 15, 1980, in Pago, American Samoa, Dan is the son of Itielu Satele Vili and Bernice A. Vili, and his full name is Itielu Daniel (Dan) Vili Waldrop. He was a two-year (2002, 2003) member of the Nebraska Football Unity Council and graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology in May 2004.
