2004 (Senior)
Dusty Keiser (pronounced KIE-zer) had a breakthrough senior campaign at the tight end position in the first season for Nebraska’s West Coast Offense. He became quarterback Joe Dailey’s top tight end target after starter Matt Herian suffered a season-ending leg injury against Missouri. Keiser saw action in all 11 games and made his first six career starts in 2004.
Keiser made six of his eight career receptions as a senior, including a personal-best 32-yarder at Iowa State. Keiser ranked ninth on the team in catches and yards (89), while his 14.8-yard per reception average rated fifth among all Husker receivers. He also made four tackles while seeing significant action on special teams.
A three-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll honoree, Keiser also was named to the academic All-Big 12 first team in 2003. He received his degree in business administration last spring.
2003 (Junior)
Keiser played in all 13 games in 2003 as a reserve tight end and on special teams. He had two receptions, a nine-yard grab against Texas A&M and a six-yard catch in the Alamo Bowl win over Michigan State. He also played on special teams and made four tackles, including two solo stops against Kansas State.
2002 (Sophomore)
Keiser played against Kansas, but did not have a reception.
2001 (Redshirt Freshman)
Keiser was a reserve tight end, but did not appear in any games.
2000 (Redshirt)
A walk-on, Keiser redshirted in his first year in the NU program.
Before Nebraska (Norfolk Catholic HS)
Keiser helped Norfolk Catholic and Coach Jeff Bellar to back-to-back Class C-1 state titles in 1998 and 1999. Keiser played tight end, wingback and outside linebacker for the Knights and earned first-team all-state honors each of his last three seasons. Keiser was named the Class C-1 Player of the Year in 1999. He earned 12 letters during his high school career, four each in football and basketball, three in track and one in golf.
Personal
Keiser is the son of Don and Sheila Keiser and was born on Nov. 29, 1981. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration in May of 2004. He was a three-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
