2004 Outlook
Junior Nathan Krug enters fall camp as a reserve defensive tackle behind projected starters Titus Adams and Le Kevin Smith. Krug has seen limited playing time in his Nebraska career, but could be called on to provide depth for first-year defensive line coach John Blake. Krug is a standout in the classroom, being named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll each of his first six semesters at Nebraska. He carries a 3.893 cumulative grade-point average in pre-medicine/exercise science.

2003 (Sophomore)
Krug was a reserve defensive tackle, but did not appear in a game.

2002 (Redshirt Freshman)
Krug played rush end and saw action against Utah State and Kansas, but did not have a tackle.

2001 (Redshirt)
A walk-on athlete, Krug redshirted in his first season at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (Nebraska Christian HS)
Krug played tight end and defensive at Nebraska Christian High School in Central City, Neb., for Coach Chad Jividen. Krug made 90 tackles in 1999 and followed with 104 stops as a senior in 2000 to earn first-team Class D-1 all-state honors. Krug earned four letters in football and three each in basketball and track, where he placed in the shot put at the state meet. Krug was also a three-time academic all-state selection.

Personal
The son of Norm and Sue Krug, Nathan was born on Aug. 10, 1982. He is majoring in pre-medicine/exercise science and carries a 3.893 cumulative grade-point average, and earned a perfect 4.0 during the spring 2004 semester. He has volunteered his time with UNL's Shadowing Program.
