2004 Outlook
Redshirt freshman Kade Pittman began his Nebraska career as a wide receiver, but has switched to I-back, where he will push for playing time. Pittman had a solid spring and in addition to contributing in the backfield, he could be a contender for kickoff return duties this fall. Pittman has outstanding speed and spent part of his off-season competing for the Nebraska track team, where he competed in the 60-meter dash.

2003 (Redshirt)
Pittman was a reserve wide receiver and suited up for several games before choosing to redshirt.

Before Nebraska (North Platte HS)
Pittman committed to Nebraska before 2002 signing day, but after suffering a knee injury he enrolled part-time at NU in the fall of 2002, and began school full-time in January of 2003. The knee injury cut short Pittman’s senior season at North Platte, but he rushed for more than 1,100 yards and scored 13 touchdowns in five games. He earned honorable-mention all-state honors from the Lincoln Journal Star and helped the Bulldogs and Head Coach Bob Zohner to a runner-up finish in the 2001 Class A state playoffs. Pittman was a PrepStar All-Midlands Region selection.

Pittman was also a standout on the track at North Platte, as he finished third at state in the 100 meters as a junior (11.04) and fourth as a senior (11.11), just ahead of Husker teammate David Horne. Pittman was also clocked in a time of 39.1 seconds in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and lettered for four years. Pittman attended the 2001 Big Red Football School and also received interest from Wyoming, Kansas State, Missouri and Arizona State, but only visited Nebraska and Kansas State.

Personal
Pittman is the son of Rick and Deb Pittman and was born on Feb. 14, 1984. He has not declared a major. Kade has volunteered time with the Scouts under the Lights program.
