2004 Outlook
Ronnie Smith enters fall camp with a goal of pushing for playing time at wide receiver. Smith is slight in build at 5-10 and 170 pounds, but possesses excellent speed and ability to run after the catch. Smith is listed as a reserve at the "X" receiver spot, and could also get a look as a return man.

2003 (Redshirt)
Smith joined the Husker program at semester in January of 2003, but sat out his first season as a redshirt.

Before Nebraska (Narbonne HS)
Smith committed to the Huskers two days before the National Letter-of-Intent signing day in 2002, but delayed his enrollment at Nebraska. Smith rushed for 1,370 yards and scored 19 touchdowns. He also had nearly 300 receiving yards playing for Coach J.R. Munoz at Nathaniel Narbonne High School (Class 4A, state’s largest). Smith earned first-team all-conference honors in the Marine League and third-team honors on the Long Beach Press Dream Team. He was an honorable-mention Las Vegas Sun Super 11 pick on offense.

Smith played just one game as a junior, when transferring between schools. He was also recruited by UNLV and Kansas State.

Personal
The son of Regina Smith-Pittman and Robert Pittman, Ronnie was born on Oct. 1, 1984 in Gardina, Calif. He has not declared a major.
