  • 2003 Big 12 Commissioner’s Fall AcademicHonor Roll

2004 Outlook
Sophomore Brandon Teamer used his natural ability and athleticism to get on the playing field in his first season as a Husker. Teamer found his way into Nebraska's regular defensive line rotation in 2003, and served as Le Kevin Smith's top backup at defensive tackle. Teamer battled a back injury late in the season, but saw extensive action throughout the year, primarily in passing situations.

Teamer returned to the practice field for spring ball and made a strong impression on first-year defensive line coach John Blake. Teamer enters fall camp listed second at right defensive tackle behind fellow Omahan Titus Adams. Teamer joined a long line of Omaha Central products to become Huskers, including former NU I-back Ahman Green (Green Bay Packers). Teamer is one of five former Central stars on Nebraska's 2004 roster.

2003 (Freshman)
Teamer was the only defensive player among six Husker true freshmen who saw action in 2003. He played in every game except Kansas, and finished with 13 tackles, including eight solo stops. He had a season-high three tackles at Texas, all unassisted. He closed the regular season with two tackles each against Kansas State and Colorado, and had three quarterback hurries on the season, including one that caused an interception against Iowa State.

Before Nebraska (Omaha Central HS)
Teamer helped Central to a 6-4 record and an appearance in the 2002 Class A playoffs, while starting at defensive tackle and offensive guard for Coach Joe McMenamin. As a senior, Teamer averaged more than seven tackles per game and led the Eagle defense in sacks. Teamer’s play at offensive guard helped pace an offense that topped 25 points six times in 10 games in 2002.

He was a first-team All-Nebraska pick by the Omaha World-Herald and a member of the Lincoln Journal Star’s Super-State squad. He earned honorable-mention all-state honors as a junior after averaging more than eight tackles per game. Teamer was a PrepStar All-American, while SuperPrep magazine ranked him as the No. 7 overall prospect in the Midlands Region.

Personal
Teamer is the son of Mary Teamer and was born on June 22, 1985. He is majoring in construction management and was named to the 2003 Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Academic Honor Roll.
