Jamie Burrow made a name for himself as NU's starting Mike linebacker in 2001, twice earning Big 12 Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors (Sept. 8 and Oct. 27).  The second-team All-Big 12 pick's first award followed an 11-tackle effort in a 27-10 win over No. 17 Notre Dame, where he added a fumble recovery and a two quarterback hurries.  He claimed his second award after posting a career-high 17 tackles, including one sack and two tackles for loss, in a 20-10 win over the-BCS No. 1 Oklahoma.  After his career-best effort against OU, Burrow was named the Bronko Nagurski National Player of the Week by the Football Writers Association of America, which added his name to the 2001 Bronko Nagurski Defensive Player-of-the-Year watch list.  Burrow finished his four-year career with 116 total tackles, despite playing his first three seasons behind All-American Carlos Polk.  He added 16 career tackles for loss, including 12 as a senior with 3.5 sacks.  Burrow graduated in December 2001.
