Loran Kaiser (pronounced KY-ser), who was picked up as a free agent by the Detroit Lions following the 2001 NFL Draft, finished his Husker career with 106 career tackles and 16 tackles for loss.  A three-year starter, Kaiser helped the Huskers to top 30 rankings in every defensive category as a senior captain in 2000 - though he missed four games with injury.  Against. No. 23 Notre Dame, Kaiser had a career-best nine tackles and one hurry.
