2007 (Senior)
Dan Erickson earned a reputation as a dominant perimeter blocker during his Husker career, and was a regular contributor in the NU receiving rotation his final two seasons. Erickson played in 40 career games and made a significant impact on special teams throughout his career.

Originally a walk-on, Erickson earned a scholarship before the start of his senior season and went on to play in all 12 games, including his only career start against Nevada. The 6-1, 195-pounder made eight receptions in 2007, assisting a record-setting Nebraska passing offense that finished No. 7 nationally in yards per game. Erickson caught a career-best three passes against Kansas State and had two grabs against USC. Erickson also made seven tackles on special teams.

Erickson appeared in all 14 games in 2006 and made four receptions for 85 yards, including one in each of the final three regular-season games. He had a key 16-yard catch on the game-winning drive at Texas A&M and had a career-long 57-yard reception against Colorado. His blocking also helped Nebraska feature a vastly improved rushing attack in 2006, and he made an impact with 12 special teams tackles.

Erickson played in 10 games in 2005, including each of the season’s final nine contests, and made four tackles on kickoff coverage. He played in four games in 2004, and recorded two tackles. Erickson redshirted in 2003.

He was twice a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and earned his undergraduate degree in communication studies in December of 2007.

2006 (Junior)
Erickson moved to safety during spring practice, but shifted back to offense before fall camp. The Omaha native had four receptions for 85 yards, including one in each of the final three regular-season games. He had just one catch before a key 16-yarder on the game-winning touchdown drive at Texas A&M. He added a career-long 57-yard catch from Zac Taylor against Colorado and had a five-yarder against Oklahoma.

He played on Nebraska’s kickoff, kickoff return and punt return teams and finished with 12 tackles, among the most by Nebraska’s special teams performers. He had four stops against Louisiana Tech and two each against Troy and Kansas.

2005 (Sophomore)
Erickson played in 10 games, including each of the season’s final nine contests. He did not have a catch, but was one of Nebraska’s top perimeter blockers. Erickson finished with four tackles on kickoff coverage, one each against Oklahoma, Kansas State, Colorado and Michigan.

2004 (Redshirt Freshman)
Erickson saw action in four games, primarily on special teams. He made an assisted tackle against Southern Miss and had a solo stop at Pittsburgh.

2003 (Redshirt)
A walk-on athlete, Erickson redshirted in his first season with Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (Papillion-LaVista HS)
Erickson played for Coach Gene Suhr at Papillion-LaVista where Erickson starred as a running back and wide receiver. As a senior, Erickson rushed for 443 yards, had 530 receiving yards and scored 17 touchdowns. He helped the Monarchs to state playoff appearances each of his three seasons, including a Class A quarterfinal berth during his sophomore campaign. In addition to his football accomplishments, Erickson also lettered twice in track.

Personal
Erickson was born on April 26, 1985, and is the son of Dave and Sue Erickson. He has volunteered his time as an American Education Week classroom speaker and with local hospital visits. Erickson’s older brother, Mike, played offensive line for Nebraska from 2001 to 2004, and played in NFL Europe in 2006. A two-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, Erickson earned his degree in communication studies from Nebraska in December of 2007.
