2005 (Senior)
Tyler Fisher completed his Nebraska career with a strong senior season in which he was a key member of Nebraska's special teams and a reserve safety in the Husker secondary.

A walk-on, Fisher played in all 12 games for the Huskers in 2005, serving as NU's No. 2 free safety and on special teams units. He finished the season with eight total tackles, and helped Nebraska's kickoff coverage unit rank among the nation's best.

Fisher had two tackles each against Wake Forest and Kansas State, and made a career-best three tackles in the regular-season finale at Colorado. He also had a pass breakup in the victory over Wake Forest.

A solid student, Fisher earned second-team academic All-Big 12 honors as a senior. He also earned his bachelor's degree as an exercise science major at Nebraska in December of 2005.

Career
Fisher played in two games as a reserve safety in 2004, appearing against Western Illinois and Missouri, but did not make a tackle. He served as a reserve in the secondary in 2003, but did not play in a game. Fisher transferred to Nebraska from Wayne State and sat out the 2002 season as a redshirt.

Before Nebraska (Wayne State/Anselmo-Merna HS)
Fisher starred at Anselmo-Merna where he played running back and linebacker for Coach Greg Wemhoff. As a senior, Fisher had 680 yards rushing, 230 yards receiving, and scored 24 touchdowns. He also made 132 tackles as a senior, helping Anselmo-Merna to a state playoff appearance in the eight-man ranks. He earned all-state and all-conference honors as a senior and lettered three times in basketball and four times in track. Fisher began his collegiate career at Wayne State (Neb.) College in 2001, where he was a reserve free safety for Coach Scott Hoffman.

Personal
John Tyler Fisher is the son of Scott and Julie Fisher, and was born on Nov. 17, 1982. Tyler majored in exercise science at Nebraska and earned his bachelor's degree in December of 2005. He was a second-team academic All-Big 12 pick as a senior and was a five-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. He has volunteered his time with the Lincoln Action program.
