Terre Haute, Ind. - The Nebraska cross country team competed at its fourth meet of the season on Saturday at the Pre-National Invitational at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. The women's team took 17th place overall in the 6K White division while the men's squad captured 32nd in the 6K Blue division.
Junior Katrina Santiago again led the Husker women for the fourth consecutive meet, coming in at 51st place overall with a solid time of 22:21.5. Santiago has been the first Husker across the line in every meet so far this year. Junior Bonnie Smith followed close behind in 54th place with a time of 22:23.6, as well as sophomore Nicole Colonna at 71st (22:40.1), freshman Judi Jones at 100th (23:07.7) and freshman Rachel Brush at 109th (23:15.4).
Sophomore Wyatt McGuire led the men's team for the first time this season with a 91st-place finish and a time of 25:13.8. Junior Pat Letz followed up in 136th place (25:30.1) as well as fellow junior Austin Post at 168th (25:44.1), freshman Karson LeComte at 181st (25:49.4) and senior Jacob Olson at 196th (25:56.2).
The Huskers will be back in action and going all out for the big event that the team has been looking forward to at the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis, Minn. on Sunday, Oct. 30.
