Jacob Olson opened up the season placing first at the Augustana Twilight with a time of 18:48.86, helping the Huskers win the team title...finished 12th at the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen (26:14.6)...placed 126th at the Notre Dame Joe Piane Invitational (25:13.9)...came in at 196th at the ISU Pre-National Invitational (25:56.2)...placed 60th at the Big Ten Championships (25:55.7)... posted an 87th-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional (32:05.8)... repeated as Nebraska's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner for men's cross country in 2016...earned academic All-Big Ten honors for a third time...claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters...earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for a fourth year in a row...earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2017.
