Academic All-Big 12 (First Team, 2002)

Entering his second season as a Husker, Marc Clinard should be in contention to contribute to the team. After a good summer of running, head coach Jay Dirksen expects Clinard to return for the 2002 season stronger than ever.

2001 (Sophomore)
Clinard made his cross country debut with the Huskers during the Bearcat Distance Classic in Maryville, Mo., where he placed seventh. His highest finish of the season came at the Briar Cliff meet in early October at McCook Lake, S.D. Placing fourth, Clinard finished the 8K meet with his season-best time of 26:38.

During the indoor track season Clinard set personal-best times in the mile, 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter run, with his highest finish coming in February at the adidas Invitational in the 5,000-meter run.
