2009 (Senior)

Elizabeth Marsh competed in five meets during her final season as a Husker, including an appearance at the Big 12 Championships. She opened the season with an 11th-place finish at the Creighton/UNO Classic, which improved on her 13th-place finish from a year earlier. Marsh posted two other top-100 regular season finishes at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational (51st) and Indiana State Pre-Nationals (70th). Her final race in a Husker uniform came at the Big 12 Championships, where Marsh placed 87th, while the team finished fourth.

 

2008 (Junior)

A team captain in 2008, Marsh opened the season with a 13th-place showing at the Creighton/UNO Classic, running a time of 16:04 on the 5K course. Marsh then posted back-to-back top-75 finishes at the 6K Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational (71st 24:34.3) and 5K South Dakota State Classic (61st 19:52), helping the team finish first and second, respectively. Marsh ended the season at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., running a time of 23:55.0 on the 6K course to finish 178th.

 

2007 (Sophomore)

Marsh started her sophomore campaign by moving from 13th place in 2006 to 12th in 2007 at the Creighton/UNO Classic. Marsh then continued to improve at the Roy Griak, finishing 218th after finishing 231st in 2006. Marsh wrapped up her sophomore season at the Big 12 Conference meet. She finished 100th with a time of 24:51.4, helping the women’s team to its second consecutive third-place finish at the conference meet.

 

2006 (Freshman)

The lone freshman on the 2006 squad, Marsh ran in the first six meets of the season, including the Big 12 Championships where she finished 82nd. She finished seventh among Husker runners in the first meet of the year at the Creighton/UNO Classic, placing 13th overall in 20:38 (5K). Four weeks later, she shattered her season best in the 5K with a mark of 19:17.95 at the South Dakota State Invitational.

 

High School (Wichita East)

Marsh was the top distance runner at Wichita East. She qualified for the Kansas Class 6A state championships all four years in both cross country and track and field under Coach Michael Draut.

 

As a sophomore, Marsh produced her highest Class 6A state cross country placing (seventh) and led her team to a sixth-place finish. She was 17th as a freshman, 13th as a junior and 25th as a senior.

 

On the track, Marsh competed in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs all four years at the state meet. Her best performances came as a sophomore at the 2004 state meet, when she finished sixth in the 3,200-meter run with a personal-best time of 11:37.19. She placed seventh as both a freshman and as a senior. Her highest state placing in the 1,600-meter run was an eighth-place finish as a sophomore.

 

Personal

Elizabeth was born on Jan. 16, 1988, to Steve and Dee Marsh. She is one of three children, with brothers Will, and Zack. Marsh is majoring in Spanish at Nebraska.
