Bio

2007 (Senior)
Senior Joslyn Dalton capped off her Husker career by helping her team finish third at the Big 12 Championship for the second year in a row. Dalton made her debut at the Woody Greeno where she finished sixth with a time of 21:49.9, nearly two minutes faster then her time from 2006 when she finished 21st with a time of 23:42. Two weeks later she made a huge leap at the Roy Griak, finishing 28th with a time of 22:06.2, a huge improvement over her 86th-place finish from the previous year.

After her 45th-place finish at the Big 12 Championship, Dalton earned the top NCAA Midwest Regional finish of her career. Her time of 21:30 placed her 41st and was over a minute faster then her 55th-place finish in 2006.

2006 (Junior)

Dalton was healthy for the first time during her collegiate cross country career and showed her progress as she improved by an average of 36 places in repeat meets from 2005.

At the highly competitive Roy Griak Invite, Dalton finished 86th overall, 139 spots higher than her sophomore placing. In postseason action, Dalton was 58th at the NCAA Midwest Regional after back-to-back 78th-place finishes in her first two seasons. She also achieved three top-25 finishes, two of which came at the Creighton/UNO Classic and Woody Greeno Invite when the Huskers took home the team championships.

Dalton carried over her success to the track as she qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, earning ninth in a career-best time of 10:35.12. Dalton held the team’s best time in the 5,000 meters with a mark of 17:31.06 at the Stanford Invitational. She also ran a career-best 5,000 meter time of 17:40.59 indoors, placing third at the Frank Sevigne/Husker Invite. Her season-best mile time of 5:02.85 was good for a runner-up finish at the Prairie Wolf Invite.

2005 (Sophomore)

Dalton was slowed by injury throughout the season, but still improved 15 spots at the Big 12 Championships from her freshman to sophomore seasons.

After missing her only meet of the year at NU’s own Woody Greeno Invitational, Dalton bounced back with a 28th-place finish in a season-best 5K time of 19:03 at the South Dakota State Invitational.

She closed the year with a 78th-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional.

Dalton impressed during the indoor track season, setting personal-best times in both the mile (5:02.46) and 3,000-meter run (10:03.54). Her mile time earned third place at the Prairie Wolf Invitational.

2004 (Freshman)

Dalton competed in six of seven events for the Huskers, finishing among NU’s top four runners in each of her six meets. She was among NU’s top three runners in her first three competitions, including a season-high No. 2 team finish at the Roy Griak Invitational.

A number of setbacks before the 2005 track and field season caused Dalton to redshirt both indoor and outdoor campaigns.

High School

Dalton was a four-time state qualifier and won the 2003 Nebraska Class A cross country crown.  Her time of 15:10.61 easily won the Class A and all-class gold medals as a senior.  Her previous best finish of 22nd place as a junior helped Fremont win the Class A state title.

Dalton's performance at the 2004 Nebraska Class A Track and Field Championships was remarkable.  She won each of her events and earned the all-class gold medal in the 1,600-meter run (5:02.85), 3,200-meter run (11:27.88) and the 4x800-meter relay (9:29.55).

Dalton graduated cum laude with high distinction and was also a member of the National Honor Society.
