Minneapolis - Abigail Knapton and Anna Filipcic captured top-five finishes as the Husker divers represented the program in the Jean Freeman Invitational this weekend.
Knapton has had a sucessful freshman season so far, capturing seven second places finishes behind All-American senior Anna Filipcic. The duo have dominated the pool all season and continued their streak this weekend.
School record holder Filipcic started the meet off strong and earned a second-place finish in the three-meter dive with a score of 354.85. Sophomore Katrina Voge and freshman Abigail Knapton followed with ninth and 10th-place finishes coming in at 258.80 and 250.45, respectively.
Following her top-10 finish in the three-meter dive, Omaha native Knapton captured an impressive second-place finish in the platform event with a score of 318.70. Voge followed with a fourth-place finish bringing in a 222.05.
Filipcic rounded out the meet coming in fifth place in the one meter at 237.70. Cottrell followed, coming in 11th place at 196.35.
The Husker swim and dive team will continue training through the month and dive back into the Devaney Natatorium on Saturday, Jan. 14. for Senior Day.
