Filipcic Qualifies for NCAA Championships

Columbia, Mo.- Nebraska's Anna Filipcic took fifth place in the one-meter diving event at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the Mizzou Aquatic Center on Tuesday with a final score of 608.10 after six dives.

The senior from Omaha earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Championships for the fourth consecutive season. Filipcic also will compete at next week's NCAA Championships in the three-meter diving event after placing 10th in the Zone D competition. She is coming off of an impressive run in the Big Ten Championships after earning All-Big Ten honors.

In the prelims, freshman Abigail Knapton scored a 253.85 for a 25th-place finish. Katrina Voge, a sophomore from Wisconsin, followed with a 240.80 for 32nd.

Knapton and Voge will conclude the Zone D competition on Wednesday with the platform diving event. 

The 2017 NCAA Championships will be held in Indianapolis, March 15-18.
