Dr. Chad Doerr joined the Nebraska Athletic Department in October of 2018 as an athletic psychologist. In his role, Doerr provides mental health treatment, performance enhancement/mental skills training and consultations with coaches and staff. 

Prior to coming to Nebraska, Doerr was a doctoral intern for UC Davis Student Health and Counseling Services with an emphasis in sport psychology. Before that he gained experience at James Madison University from 2014 to 2017. While at James Madison he was a graduate assistant director of the Challace J. McMillin Center for Sport Psychology. Doerr was a mental skills consultant and a member of the Care and Recovery Enhancement Team (CARE). He also was an advanced practicum clinician with a student-athlete emphasis in the James Madison University's Counseling Center.

From 2012 to 2014 Doerr was a mental skills consultant for the Center of Performance Excellence (CPEX) at the University of Denver.

Doeer graduated from Feather River College in 2009 with an associate's degree in liberal studies. He then went on to earn a bachelor's in psychology from the University of Nevada-Reno in 2012. Doerr earned his master's in sport performance psychology from the University of Denver in 2014 and then his doctorate in clinical and school psychology with an emphasis in sport psychology from James Madison University in 2018.
