Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska volleyball team announced on Thursday that they have secured a match with Wichita State during the 2012 spring season. The Huskers and Shockers will meet at the NU Coliseum on Saturday, April 14 at 5 p.m. and the match will feature side-out scoring. The match will conclude a full day of activities on campus as the Husker football team will hold its annual Red/White Spring Game at 1 p.m.
The Huskers and Shockers last met on Saturday, April 9 in Grand Island, Neb., as Nebraska topped Wichita State 3-2 in front of 5,522 fans at the Heartland Events Center. The Shockers traveled to Lincoln for the 2011 NCAA First and Second Rounds, but were eliminated in a 3-0 loss to Kansas State in the first round.
Both reserved and general admission tickets will be sold for the match against the Shockers and are currently on sale at Huskers.com, by calling the NU Ticket Office at 800-8BIGRED or by visiting the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office in person weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reserved tickets are $10 with GA tickets set at $8. All currently enrolled UNL students are eligible to receive one free ticket to the spring match, but must secure a ticket in advance either online at Huskers.com, by phone at 800-8BIGRED or in person at the Athletic Ticket Office located just west of Memorial Stadium, while supplies last.
