Jonesboro, Ark. – The Nebraska men’s golf team is in 19th place after shooting 617 over two rounds at the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate on Monday.
The Huskers opened with 316 but improved for 301 in the second round at RidgePointe Country Club, a par-72, 6,565-yard layout. Austin Peay State leads the team competition at 566 strokes through two rounds. The Governors’ Anthony Bradley leads all individuals after posting 137 on Monday.
Manuel Lavin paced the Huskers with a 151 total on Monday. The junior from Aguascalientes, Mexico shot a first-round 75 before a 76 in the second round. Lavin managed three birdies over the first two rounds and sits in a tie for 52nd with 18 holes to play.
Kolton Lapa and Jordan Reinertson are tied for 66th after the first day in Jonesboro, each shooting 153. Lapa, a freshman, started his day with a 76 before carding a 77 in the afternoon. Reinertson opened with an 83 before firing a team-best 2-under-par 70 in the second round.
Matt Record is tied for 103rd and Neil Dufford is in 108th to round out the Husker lineup. Record posted 84 and 78 on Monday for a 162 total. Dufford added a pair of 82s in the first two rounds for a score of 164.
