Dallas, Texas - The Nebraska women's golf team shot a second-round 331 on Saturday to hold steady in 13th place at 665 through 36 holes at the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club Invitational.
Freshman Cassie Deeg, redshirt freshman Jackie O'Doherty and junior Steffi Neisen all managed rounds of 82 on the par-72, 6,301-yard layout at the Dallas Athletic Club. Deeg heads into Sunday's final round in a tie for 41st (161) to lead the Huskers. Neisen sits in 67th (171), while O'Doherty moved into a tie for 69th with freshman Hannah Luebke, who settled for an 87 on Saturday to match O'Doherty at 173 through two rounds.
Junior Katelyn Wright added an 85 in the second round to close the day in a tie for 58th at 165 through 36 holes.
Redshirt freshman Cassidy Stelzmiller rounded out the NU contingent with a 91 while playing as an individual to sit in 77th (182).
Oklahoma State moved to the top of the team standings after two rounds. The Cowgirls fired the best round of the day with a 295 to close at 600, four strokes ahead of Denver (296-308-604). Oklahoma sits in third at 605 (295-310), while Ohio State enters Sunday's final round in fourth place at 606 (299-307).
Oklahoma State's Julie Yang took over the top spot on the individual leaderboard with a tournament-best 68 to head into the final round at 138. Yang owns a commanding eight-shot lead over Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil (69-77-146) and a 10-stroke edge over Ohio State's Amy Meier (72-76-148).
The 15-team tournament concludes with with the final round on Sunday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.com.
